ABIA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SPEAKER SACKED

 The speaker of the Abia state house of Assembly, Mr Martins Azubuike has been removed from his position as the speaker of the House. Mr Azubuike was sacked on Thursday, the 29th of December, 2016, on the accounts high handedness and grossly overstepping his boundaries as the speaker. Speaking on the development, the deputy majority leader and member representing Obingwa East constituency, Mr Solomon Akpulonu says that, the former speaker was ousted as a result of his inability to ensure equitable distribution of positions among the members of the House of Assembly. He says, that Mr Azubuike remained grossly insensitive to the welfare and as well as the needs of members and staff of the Assembly. He also claims that, the expelled speaker's misconducts brought the Assembly, on several occasions, at loggerhead with other arms of the government, and other governmental agencies in Abia State. The deputy speaker, Mr Cosmos Ndukwe, who presided over the meeting, says that the issue is of urgent importance, and as such, sues for a new speaker. The House later nominated member representing Osisioma North state constituency, Mr Kennedy Njoku as a replacement for the ousted speaker.
