MORE TROUBLES FOR DINO MELAYE
Senator Dino Melaye is no doubt, no child in controversy. It has often been rumored, and upheld by some schools of thought, that the motor-mouthed politician performs and as well as, swims better in the ocean of squabble and wrangle. No wonder the avalanche of cross-fires that follow the senator in quick sessions.
You will recall that the senator cum musician, who recently lunched a book on corruption, titled The Antidote of Corruption, had before now, told Nigerians, that he has, just like the most learned President in the world, Robert Mugabe, 7 degrees in his repertoire of degrees. A claim neither the senator nor any of the institutions, he claims to have got the degrees form, had justified.
The latest, as it regards the storm in the tea cup of the senator, is that, a total of 188,580 electorates from the Kogi West Senatorial District, the same senatorial zone, senator Melaye represents in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly have signed the recall register form of the senator.
According to the returning officer for the recall of the serving senator, Adamu Yusuf, out of the 360,098 of the total registered voters of the 7 Western districts, comprising Mopa Muro, Yagba East, Kabba Bunu, Yagba, Lokoja, Ijumu and Koton Karfe, 188,580 have signed the recall register, which constitutes 52.3% of the total voters in the senatorial zone.
Mr Yusuf implies that, the votes got so far have surpassed the number of votes, constitutionally required to recall a senator, which is 51.1%. He therefore calls on all Nigerians to be aware that, they have met the constitutional requirements, and it will be apposite for the all-important to be done. "Dino has failed grossly to represent our senatorial zone effectively, so we are calling him back" he opined.
