 AGUERO'S HAT TRICK RESTS BUCHAREST
A five Star performance from Aguero and company demolished Steaua Bucharest in the qualifying stage of the UEFA champions league on tueday. It took only 13minutes for David Silva to open the scores for the Manchester side, this subsequently followed by a hat trick from the hat trick hero himself Sergio Aguero, who has now scored 11 hat tricks. The rout was completed by Nolito's fine strike. The match was however made more remarkable by Aguero's two penalty misses.

  PDP! A FOREGONE ALTERNATIVE?

There is no doubt, and in fact, no longer news that PDP, a self imposed largest party in Africa, has a deep crack in their political wall. It is believed that, the pregnancy that gave birth to this crack was conceived by the glaring inability of the flag bearers of the party to deliver on the legions of promises, as well as, consolidate the trust and expectations Nigerians reposed on them, following their last shot on power. Just like an unwanted pregnancy, this crack would have been aborted at the early stage, when the issue of the party's flag bearers comes up in the last election in 2015 but rather, they chose to, just like the self satisfied man, who after having a randy section with his lover, asked her to drink salty water, in order to cushion the effect of their escapades,  but became puzzled when the unpalatable hug of unwanted pregnancy embraced him. They allowed their self-satisfied confidence to overwhelm them, and as a result, this pregnancy was allowed to be given birth to, who grows to be the evil child in THE gODS ARE NOT BE BLAME, that will kill his father and marry his mother.
After the demise of their political grip on power in 2015 which was occasioned by 16 years of unfelt political voyage, that were characterized by the dearth of political ideology, political arrangements and godfatherism that determine who gets what.  As a result of the overt lack of positive political influence on the people, they rose to weather the storm in their party, but in their usual political looseness and unending political surge to issues, they went for the services of the former governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff, who has been described in some quarters as a stark All Progressive Congress's (APC) stalwart, masquerading in Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) clothing. His (Sheriff) recent positions and stand on the PDP brouhaha have left nothing to be desired. He had boasted that, he can not mortgage his political interest in exchange to the party's peace, he maintains also that, his stipulations should be followed in order to have peace in the party and that includes, total cancelation of the proposed Port Haucourt convention and the immediate dissolving of the Ahmed Makarfi led caretaker committee. He says that, he never asked for the chairmanship of the party, and that the chairmanship position of the party was practically forced on him, and as a result, he's not ready to let go, until his mandate comes to fruition. Many have argued that his mandate is actually in tandem with APC's script, which is to bring about the death of PDP and that Sheriff is believed to be at the forefront of being the anointed Carpenter that will hit the final nail on the coffin of PDP.
PDP as the only visible, sole striving opposition party in Nigeria, on realising the depth of this crack and the visible writing on the wall, occasioned by some of the anti party engagements embarked upon by their controversial chairman, which are inimical and runs in polar opposition to the party's renewed philosophy, which is to wrestle power off the current political power holders(APC). They cancelled the chairmanship of Sheriff and replaced him with a caretaker committee headed by former Kaduna state governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on an emergency Congress in Port Haucourt months ago. This however did not go well with the Sheriff's led leadership as he rejected in totality, the red card shown him, while maintaining that he remains the leader of the party. Consequently, this brought about two parallel leadership in the party, and as a result, the balkanization of the so called largest party in Africa.APC, the ruling political party, having waited for 16 war-like years to grab power in Nigeria, seems to be the chief beneficiary of the current political quagmire rocking PDP. They have employed everything within their powers to making sure that the current political status quo in PDP remains the same. Part of the things that they have done was to empower all their stooges adequately, of which Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has been pinpointed as one. This is apparently so, because the body language of senator Sheriff, as well as his recent actions, actively or passively, seem to conform to the above notion. It could be recalled that, all entreaties, especially the recent one, spearheaded by prof. Jerry Gana, to resolve the leadership impasse in PDP, by asking Sheriff led faction, who had been sacked by party previously, to shield his sword and embrace the olive branch provided by the party, to cave-in into the Ahmed Makarfi led caretaker committee proved abortive. Furthermore, the recent pronouncements by justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja, in which he gives a conflicting injunction on the leadership tussle in PDP. He declares Ali Modu Sheriff as the legitimate PDP chairman, even when another High Court in Port Harcourt had already recognized Makarfi as the party's head. Again, he declares the August 17th proposed PDP convention in Port Harcourt illegal, even   as another judge of the same high court had already given a green light to the convention. All these are witnesses to the fact that, APC is winning the war of a mono-party system in Nigeria and as a result, relegating PDP to the background as a foregone alternative.
The sledge hammer of any concerned Nigerian, who understands the healthy nature of a viable opposition party in any given Democracy as a watchdog, should therefore, fall on the materialistic state chapters of the party. They have as a result of their selfish and egoistic inclinations, refused to see the writing on the wall, and have availed themselves to be used as instruments of making Nigeria a mono-party state. The recently concluded state Congress in Imo State lays credence to the above notion. For instance, there were two parallel Congresses in the state by the same party. While the Ali Modu Sheriff led executives had a relatively successful political arrangement, termed Congress, that produced Nnamdi Anyaechi as chairman, there were inconspicuous indications that, the Ahmed Makarfi led Congress, which took place at the Nwankwo Kanu's sports Arena, was distorted by a carefully arranged imposition of candidates, and other infinitesimal irregularities that led to the emergence of another yet to be identified factional chairman of the state party. The Makarfi led Congress however produced Charles Ezekwem as the state chairman of the party.
It is highly unpalatable and unwholesome to point out here that, while the leadership tussle that has balkanized the party at the center, and has rendered the party as vision-less and direction-less, the state chapters of the party, who would have come in to weather the storm, have decided instead, out of their inordinate power drunkenness and the overt materialistic inclinations of the individuals, to joined the bandwagon at the center. This is against the backdrop of the fact that, people see leadership position as an avenue to enrich themselves. Nobody gives a thought about service anymore.
Based on the foregoing therefore, it is my humble bias, to call on all Nigerians, especially those that are concerned with the leadership qualities of the present-day government, and as well as the current socioeconomic realities on ground, to wade into the current impasse rocking PDP, so as to reposition the party as a strong and viable party it was, so as to be ready to act as a watchdog to the government of the day. But if this current impasse continues unabated as it seems, Nigerians should jettison the party and begin to fashion out a new way of putting the government of the day on their toes.  This in my opinion would be to from a new viable  party will be able to give the current government, a fight for their money in 2019, if their current leadership style dose not improve, of which i hardly see any visible sign. This position is indeed as a result of the enormous crack in PDP's wall that seems to be over and above them, by 2019, PDP would have become a foregone alternative. A stitch in time saves nine.    SPORTS MINISTRY MAKES A "U"TURN, PAYS MIKEL 4000$

There are indications that the sports minister may have paid John Mikel Obi the 4000$ that he paid to savage the dream team in Rio from an impending embracement from the hotel that the lodged. It could be recalled that the management of the said hotel had threatened to drove the dream team out of the hotel owing to their ability to offset arrears accumulated from food and other services the hotel rendered to the team. It was gathered that Mikel came to the rescue oc the team by paying the said amount. It was however denied by the sports ministry and the current news of the refunding of the money to Mikel leaves nothing to be desired

SPORTS MINISTER SHOCKS                           DREAM TEAM 5

The minister of sports, Solomon Dalung has marveled the Nigerian football team, the dream team5, at the ongoing RioOlympics, when he posits that, matches bonuses are not extended to the Olympic team. He says that match bonuses are meant for only teams that that play in world cup and African cup of nations. This pronouncement comes at the hills of the qualification of the team into the semifinal of the competition and one had expected that the sport hierarchy in Nigeria would have done every positive to maintain the momentum in the team. It will be recalled that the team had earlier threatened to boycott their last match, owing to legions of unpaid allowances
