PLAYER BEATS REFEREE TO A PULP FOR ISSUING A RED CARD TO HIM

A Portuguese player has been banned for life, after brutally kneeing a referee for issuing him a red card. The player, Marco Goncalves, who lashed out on a defender of the opposing team, was picked by the referee, Jose Rodriguez, who did not blink an eye before issuing him a straight red card.

The match was between Canelas 2010- a team made up of Porto Ultras and Rio Tinto in the fourth tier of the Portuguese league. The match had bearly begun, as it was still in the opening Two minutes of the match when the umpire brandished a red card to the player. This apparently angered the player, who immediately grabbed the umpire by the head and kneeing him on the face, prompting the security men to come into the field to weather the storm.

When asked about the incident, he said, "i don't remember hitting him, he was pushing me"
He continues, "you are telling me that, it was a knee, maybe it was. If that's the case, i really want to apologize to the referee, his family and Rio Tinto" he said.
